Japanese Pokémon boosters go from 200 to 230 yen starting May 2027
The Pokémon Company sets a 230 yen price for Japanese packs released from May 2027. Packs released before then are not affected.
The Pokémon Company posted a price notice on Japan's official card game site on November 6, 2026. The standard 5-card booster goes from 200 to 230 yen, tax included, for new products released from May 2027 onward. The company points to rising raw material and related costs.
PokeGuardian works this out to 6,900 yen for a 30-pack box, up from 6,000 yen. The notice says products released through April 2027 stay at 200 yen, and adds that some packs may be priced differently, with other product types set case by case. The next Japanese set, due on November 27, 2026, remains at 200 yen.
It follows a similar move announced in January 2026, which took packs from 180 to 200 yen for products released from May 2026.
This notice covers Japan only. It says nothing about English or European pricing, and we found no matching announcement from Pokémon's Western offices, so it would be wrong to read it as a global increase. A Japanese pack also holds 5 cards while an English one holds 10, which makes a direct price comparison misleading.
For collectors importing Japanese product, the list price is only one part of the final bill. Importer margins, shipping, customs and exchange rates all play a role, and the change only applies to products released from May 2027, so it will take time to see what is affected.
